Ruthie, who has been working from her home in Baltimore for over 10 years, was first inspired by the hand lettered addresses on her son’s Bar Mitzvah invitations. Word spread of her calligraphy talent, and requests poured in. Her first company -- Classic Calligraphy -- was born, which became CC Design and Print as she became an experienced, talented stationery designer.
Ruthie has a well-earned reputation for perfection. She pays strict attention to detail and stays in touch through the whole process, beginning with a meeting to discuss all the particulars. She then takes all of the information and turns it into art, matching wording and design with the personality of the event.
Ruthie keeps her clients involved through the whole process, approving final wording and design, and reviewing proofs, in person over lunch or coffee, by email, or fax – whatever works best. Any necessary changes are made, design and wording is checked and double checked, and then printed and assembled. Sometimes Ruthie calls on her family for the finishing touches – putting together packages, tying ribbons and bows, and if necessary, stamping and mailing, which can often be a relief for stress-filled clients.
